In honor of Jim Rice...

The BEST right handed hitter in baseball for over 10 years!

From 1975 to 1986 he averaged .304 with 29 homers and 106 RBIs back when those numbers meant something!

Had 3 home run crowns... was in the top 5 of batting average 4 times

Was in the top 5 of MVP voting 6 times, including his 1978 MVP season.

When you are a dominating force in baseball for over a decade, which he was... you belong in the Hall of Fame.

When you had to do it while often times being the only black player on the team (thanks again Yawkeys!) I think we can give him a pass on not being the most cuddly player.

He's one of the great Red Sox of all time.
His number should be retired.

And his number is the magic number.

THE MAGIC NUMBER IS 14!
